October 29th is a national holiday in Turkey, commemorating the establishment of the Turkish Republic and the revolutionary leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Atatürk is a critical figure in Turkey’s process of modernization and secularization. He laid the foundations of the Republic and transformed the country into a contemporary nation. Every year, we celebrate with enthusiasm the great transformation led by Atatürk and the victory of the struggle for independence.
